Time Management
-----------------------
“So, what’s the topic of your next article?”
My friend shoots me with question of which I had no answer. It was Sunday and till then I was not having even the topic ready. How would I be able to write anything till this Wednesday? What will be my post? What about my resolution to write something on each Wednesday and improve English?
Oh my God. Many questions were there in mind. They were not helping me find out the answer, to show me a way. They were just increasing tension. The time passed by. I got busy in office work, got busy in training and couldn’t figure out what to write till today. In the morning, my friend asked me again, “Did you write something for article? Is your article ready?” The answer was negative. After sometime, I tried to phrase out something and texted her. She read it and gave me a go ahead. Tension was still there. As time passes second by second, tension was getting higher.
So, I realized that questions are related with tension. If questions remain unanswered for long time, then tension increases. And of course, tension affects your health too. Tension affects mental health first following your physical health. How to tackle this situation then? How to stay healthy by lessening our tension? Is it related somewhere with time management? Is it related somewhere with importance of those questions? Is it related with critical situations that could cause a black out?
Sometimes, mentally we are so stressed due to overload of work, overload of meeting our expectations to achieve targets, not taking proper rest. And it causes this black out situation. Due to which, we are unable to manage time properly. We are unable to prioritize our work accordingly. And everything gets messed up.
Planning of our work is the most important thing which can help us in this. If I would have planned for article from last Wednesday, then I could have managed to write something till today and there would have not been any tensions this morning, at least regarding the article. Planning of work, time management, prioritization of works, all of these play major role in avoiding this kind of situations. But, what about ad hoc situations then? What about any urgent issues? How to tackle them from this well planned work? Answer lies in planning itself. Plan your work properly with extra time period, so that if any ad hoc situation comes in, you will be able to spend that free time with it and rest of planned works will not get affected. Indeed, in some situations you had to make few adjustments whenever needed, but that is understandable.
So, yes, I realized it today. I have to plan for next Wednesday’s article well. I have to allocate some time for it. I have to give it some priority to save myself from critical situation on next Wednesday. Then there will be no questions and no tensions. So that when my friend will ask me, “Do you have your topic ready?” my answer will be “Yes, I am ready with it dear, would you like to read it?”
